It began, like many microbreweries, with a homebrew kit and a love of beer. Not just a love of drinking beer but a real respect for the craft, the history, the art, and the industry, as well as a passion for the brewing process itself. Today, the Lake Placid Pub & Brewery has been brewing award-winning ales and lagers for more than 19 years and has expanded rapidly due to its popularity and quality, earning the respect of the brewing community and national media attention. Over the years we have brewed almost 90 different styles of beer and we brew almost 350,000 pints of beer annually, placing us in the top 7% of brewpubs nationwide.
Lake Placid Ubu Ale
ABV: 7% Seasonal Availability: Year Round
Our famous English-style Strong Ale is deep garnet red in color, and features dark fruit and roasted malt flavors, with a slightly bitter finish.
Lake Placid Nippletop Milk Stout
ABV: 4.9% Seasonal Availability: Seasonal
This is our version of a milk stout, originally named Fresh Powder Milk Stout. A milk stout is simply a stout brewed with an addition of Lactose, a non-fermentable milk sugar, used to create sweetness and a fuller body and mouthfeel in the beer. This is the sweetest stout that we brew, not only because of the addition of lactose, but because of the low hop bitterness, and higher residual sugar content. It is very full bodied beer, often perceived as thick and creamy.
Lake Placid Pumpkin Ubu Ale
ABV: 7.0% Seasonal Availability: Seasonal
A new twist on our flagship brew – we use steamed organic pumpkins in an Ubu Ale mash and then spice up the beer with traditional autumnal spices like clove, cinnamon, and allspice.
