Over 140 years ago, young master brewer August Kuentzmann Damm emigrated from Alsace with his wife
Melanie, fleeing the Franco-Prussian War. The journey took them to the Mediterranean coast where they settled down to make their dream come true: brewing beer.
Daura is the result of a long research process that has been developed in partnership with the Damm Master Brewers and the Gluten Department of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), using state-of-the-art technology.
When it was launched in 2006, it was the first beer to help coeliacs gain normality in their social lives as it has the flavour and preserves the properties of “standard” beers and is made with the same basic ingredient: barley malt.
Daura’s gluten level is 3 ppm, well below the 20 ppm accepted by the Codex Alimentarius as suitable for consumption by coeliacs. For maximum assurance, before being distributed on the market, all batches of Daura are tested by the Gluten Unit of the CSIC, making it completely safe.
The label’s design includes the crossed grain logo, the licence code awarded in Spain by FACE and internationally by COELIACS UK after a long accreditation process. The logo helps consumers rapidly identify products that are fully-guaranteed.
A combination of research and Damm’s unwavering corporate social responsibility has led this first gluten-free beer to be the most award-winning anywhere across the globe.
Inedit was created in 2008 by Ferran Adrià, and his team of sommeliers from elBulli who believed in the need for a beer to accompany and compliment the varied flavours found in modern gastronomy.
Known for its picturesque vistas, hidden coves and idyllic historic villages, the Costa Brava is home to some of the best restaurants in the world, and is also the location of elBulli where Inedit was created in 2008.
Inedit is a truly unique beer made with barley malt, wheat, hops, coriander, liquorice and orange peel.
Best served in a white wine glass, no more than half full, to fully appreciate its intensity and aromatic complexity.
Inedit was created to pair with a variety of culinary creations, even the most complicated ones based on citrus fruits and bitter elements. Splendid when served with starters, salads and fatty fish, its versatility also allows it to accompany bittersweet flavours and spicy sensations.
TASTING NOTES: High intensity and aromatic complexity. Its appearance is slightly cloudy. Fruity and floral to the nose, with a yeasty sensation and sweet spice reminiscences. Creamy, fresh texture, soft volume and delicately carbonic. Long aftertaste and pleasant memory.
This beer has a rich and highly adaptable bouquet. In other words, a unique personality: smooth yet complex.
