Dos Equis

This traditional Vienna-style amber lager has a rich, big flavor. Think of it as the Lager’s dark, moody, and passionate cousin.

History

Dos Equis Ambar was launched in 1900 by the Moctezuma Brewery in Veracruz, Mexico. It was originally called “XX Century” in honor of the 1900’s. People who didn’t get the Roman numerals started to ask for “the one with the two X’s,” and the name stuck. “Dos Equis” means “two X’s” in Spanish.

Taste

Amber in color and hence its name, Dos Equis Ambar is one of the world’s most hedonistic beers. Not at all heavy, its an incredibly delicious explosion of caramel and burnt sugar flavors. Yet at the same time, its subtly spicy, fruity, and bitter. Indeed, its one of the most complex beers in our portfolio. Well structured and with a long finish, its frothy and persistent.
