Aqua Panna

The Acqua Panna natural spring is located at an altitude of 900m above the sea level, on the slopes of Mt. Gazzaro – 25 km north of Florence. The environment is typical of mountainous regions, covered with dense natural forest: Acqua Panna‘s special balanced composition is the result of an unique hydro-geological catchment basin that is one of a kind. The major part of the Acqua Panna estate has a prevalence of woodland – 700 pristine hectares, destined to safeguard tradition and the local wildlife – while the rest is cultivated as farmland to build food resources for wild fauna. An intensive effort to maintain the balance of the natural habitat is constantly made, with the intent to safeguard the spring and its natural properties as well as to defend the natural beauty of the reserve. Acqua Panna will continue to surface in all its purity, in a perfect natural setting.

The species that populate the reserve include hare, pheasant, red-legged partridge, roe, fallow deer, red deer, wild boar, fox, hooded crow and wolf. Visitors travelling the steep paths of the reserve can easily come face to face with wild boar, fallow deer and fawn. Besides corporate personnel, a gamekeeper surveys the whole property.
